Many of our senior leadership team were born and raised in the area they work in, which we think demonstrates our committment to the betterment of regional Queensland.

Meet our key management staff....

RAY HICKS - Managing Director

B.Eng., M.I.E. Aust., C.P. Eng., L.G.E, R.P.E.Q

Born and bred in Chinchilla, Ray commenced with the firm in 1975 as a Junior Engineer and has been with the Company ever since. Ray is renowned for his practical knowledge in local government engineering, particularly in the design and constuction of rural road systems, water supply and sewerage, streetworks and aerodromes. Ray manages the general operation of the business and is the Director in Charge of engineering services for the Dalby Regional Council and on the board of the Road Group.

JOHN McQUAID - Company Secretary

L.G.O., A.I.M.E

John began with C.M. (Gerry) Calder in 1971. His extensive experience in Main Roads design and the design and supervision of other rural works has created him a reputation for excellence in his work. John is a qualified Local Government Overseer, Registered Builder and Member of the Australian Institute of Municipal Engineers.  John manages our associated geotechnical company, South Queensland Soils and is responsible for the financial management of both businesses.

BRYAN PAYNE - Director

B.Eng., M.I.E. Aust., C.P. Eng., L.G.E., R.P.E.Q., M.A.I.B.S

Our resident import from London, Bryan commenced with the firm in 1977 and became our first full time employee in Roma in 1979. A qualified engineer and building certifier, Bryan is the Director in Charge of engineering services for the Maranoa and Central Highlands regions, and is known for his knowledge of rural roadworks, streetworks, water supply and sewerage, structural and architectural design, building certification and local government administration.

GARY COOK - Director

B.Eng., Grad. Dip. Mun. Eng., M.I.E. Aust., C.P. Eng, L.G.E., R.P.E.Q

Raised in Chinchilla, Gary commenced with the firm in 1984 after spending some time developing his skills working for Main Roads. Holding a Bachelor of Engineering, Graduate Diploma of Municipal Engineering and Certificate in Quality Management, Gary is currently the Area Engineer for the Dalby and District section of the Dalby Regional Council and is a qualified building certifier.

GRAHAM BRANDON - Consultant

B.Eng., F.I.E.Aust., C.P. Eng., L.G.E., R.P.E.Q., F.I.M.E., F.A.I.M., JP (Qual)

A `living legend` in local government and engineering circles, Graham joined Gerry Calder as a junior partner in 1974 and has been involved in the firm ever since. With many years experience behind him, Graham`s speciality areas are local government administration, quality management and building certification. Graham remains involved with the firm as a Consultant.

PHIL LATTIMORE - Senior Engineer/ Associate 

B.Eng, Grad. Dip. Mun. Eng, M.I.E. Aust, C.P. Eng., R.P.E.Q.

Phil commenced with the firm in 1990 as an Assistant Resident Engineer in Taroom followed by five years in our Roma office as the responsible engineer for the Bendemere, Warroo and Bulloo Shire Councils. Currently the Senior Civil Engineer and Manager of the Toowoomba Office, Phil has extensive experience in civil design, cost assessment and supervision, project management, water supply and sewerage and local government engineering and is the Practice Quality Manager.

CAMERON LATTIMORE - Senior Engineer/ Associate

B.Eng., M.I.E. Aust.

Cameron joined the firm in 2004 after a number of years working in structural engineering. In his current role, Cameron is the Senior Structural Engineer for Brandon & Associates and manages the Chinchilla design team. Cameron`s speciality areas include structural analysis and design, project management & administration and the preparation of cost estimates and proposals.

SCOTT POMERENKE - Senior Engineer/ Associate

B.Eng., M.I.E. Aust., R.P.E.Q

Scott`s current role as Engineer for the Dalby Regional Council (Chinchilla/Tara area) allows him to utilise his extensive skills and experience in local government engineering and administration. Scott`s speciality areas include civil and structural project management, roadworks, design, water supply and sewerage and quality management.

 

MARK POMERENKE - Senior Engineer/ Associate

B.Eng., M.I.E. Aust., R.P.E.Q., JP (Qual)

Mark joined the Brandon & Associates team in 2002 having graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from USQ. As Works Engineer for Banana Shire Council based in Taroom, Mark is involved in the design, planning and supervision of roadworks, water supply and sewerage, project management and local government engineering.
